Chess Association

The Hull and District Chess Association is a registered Charity (number 1155858) and a member of the English Chess Federation (ECF). We are committed to make chess more accessible to all by supporting  and promoting Chess, Chess Clubs and Chess players throughout Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. Our vision is for Hull to:

Become one of the best places to play Chess in the UK and for Hull to have one of the most forward thinking and vibrant Chess environments in the UK. We will make Hull recognised as a good place to play Chess and make people want to come to Hull to play Chess.

Whether you are an experienced chess player or new to the game and looking for help on how to get started this web site will have something to help you! Here you will find everything you need to play chess in Hull and East Yorkshire including information on how to get started and finding information on all the local clubs as well as the events run by the Association. Information on junior chess in schools, Chess clubs in the area, a calendar of events, History of chess in Hull, Chess Congress information, and much, much more.
