Hull Ukraine Team win both Team Lightning Trophies

Hull Ukraine Team win the George Willoughby and Peter Withill Trophies!

On Tuesday evening, 5th July, the Hull & District Team Lightning event took place again for the first time in 3 years.

This is a 5-round Swiss team tournament, where players have to move on the buzzer than rings every 10 seconds!

Two trophies will be played for played for by the same four man teams. 
The George Willoughby Trophy – open to teams of four players. No grade restrictions.
The Peter Withill Trophy - A handicap tournament with handicaps base

Ten teams entered: 2 from Beverley Chess Club, 1 from East Hull Chess Club, 4 from Hull Chess Club, 1 from St Andrews Chess Club, 1 from Victoria Dock Chess Club and 1 team from our friends in Scunthorpe.

The event was organised by Stephen Greep and run on the night by Douglas Vleeshhouwer and Bryan Hesler.
