Message from the President
I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone visiting this site. If you are not already a member and playing for one of our clubs, then take look at our clubs section, where you will find all the information you need to enable you to join the club of your choice.

We organise all the team chess in the area as well as individual tournaments, we also hold two congresses a year, standard & rapid play and a good number of our clubs have internal competitions.

Membership fees vary. But at the top end you can have chess two nights a week for a year for as little as 28 pounds! At the moment we are offering free membership to Under 18s in our year olds in our newly formed Ross Junior Chess Academy. You can try us out for a few weeks and if you are interested and keen to acquire the art of chess playing we will pay your club membership for the rest of the year.

Your membership will entitle you to the use of chess games on laptops, over the board  coaching and display board demonstrations from experienced players, as well as involvement  in all club activities, including team chess. If you are under 16 we will need to speak to your
parents first.

Whatever level of chess you are at you will be welcome at any of our clubs. So to all members old, new and prospective good luck with your chess and thank you for visiting our site.

Best Wishes
Mike Butt/President
